| Miguel Manara by Oscar Milosz Produced by The Blackfriar's Repertory Theatre Directed by Steve Day Depression, Sorrow, Guilt, Despair, these are the things Don Miguel Manara struggled with in his life after he lost the thrill of wooing women. It is that struggle lies at the heart of this lyric play, a battle between a man and his past, a man and his own darkness. Based on the life of the historical Don Juan and written in one evening by the popular French poet the play asks: How does one handle overwhelming catastrophes? And, how does one deal with a past that cannot change? Mounted at the St. Vincent's Ferrer Cathedral on Lexington and 65th St. |
