The Khrusty Brothers
Music and Lyrics by Don Chaffer
Book by Chris Cragin
Directed by Steve Day
hosted by The Public Theatre
August 23rd at 7pm

A new rock musical under development, The Khrusty Brothers is a cross between
The Royal Tenenbaums,
The Who's Tommy, and Smoke on the Mountain. A quirky fable about a father and a son, the musical’s main character Danderhauler Agamemnon Khrusty grows up under the tutelage of his father Winston Wilbur Force Khrusty. Winston has lived a successful career as a traveling bluegrass-gospel singer, but Danderhauler wants to sing a different tune. The musical also includes the brothers Bud, Jonas, and Khorky Khrusty, as well as a merry band of pregnant teens. While zanny, The Khrusty Brothers is predmoninetly an exploration of how our parents shape our world view.

Don Chaffer, Composer/Lyricst
Don Chaffer has won an ASCAP song of the year award in CHR as well as a "song of the year" award from Radio and Records. He has also sold the best-selling independent Christian album of all time with his band

Their albums have been produced by Darrell Brown (Keith Urban, Radney Foster), Dennis Matkosky (Chicago, Eddie Money), and engineered by Niko Bolas (Neil Young, Fiona Apple, Billy Joel).

"Don Chaffer's stream of consciousness songwriting is among the best in the business: gutsy, honest, relatable, poetic... without sounding forced or obvious." - Christianity Today
